Jencons, Radiation Protection Shielding

Beta emissions of ³²P, ³⁵S, ³H and ¹⁴C can be effectively blocked by 10mm thick optical acrylic. All Jencons Beta shielding is manufactured from heavy gauge 10mm thick acrylic.

Where shielding is required for protection against Gamma emissions of [¹²⁵I] Iodine and other Gamma emitters of lesser energy, a 12mm thick lead acrylic is required. This is the heavy gauge lead acrylic Jencons uses for its Gamma shielding products.

Safety Carboy Cover

A simple acrylic cover for the protection of carboys and laboratory equipment. Hinged lid and open base allows carboy to be placed into the unit. Carboy cover can be removed without disturbing container by simply lifting off. Clear acrylic for [³²P] Beta emissions. Fits standard 20 litre carboy.

Containment Trays and Anti-Static Liners
These trays are manufactured from PVC and provide a safety containment area for working with hazardous substances.They are the yellow radiation safety colour with the radiation Trefoil displayed. The trays should be used with the B-Safe anti-static tray liners. These flexible PVC transparent liners fit easily over the containment trays and are disposable.

Important Safety Notice
Lead acrylic is meant for [¹²⁵I] and related Gamma blockage only. When Beta emitting particles such as [³²P] or [³⁵S] are exposed to heavy metals such as lead, dangerous Bremstrahlung X-rays are produced.
