Jencons, Radiation Protection Shielding

Beta emissions of ³²P, ³⁵S, ³H and ¹⁴C can be effectively blocked by 10mm thick optical acrylic. All Jencons Beta shielding is manufactured from heavy gauge 10mm thick acrylic.

Where shielding is required for protection against Gamma emissions of [¹²⁵I] Iodine and other Gamma emitters of lesser energy, a 12mm thick lead acrylic is required. This is the heavy gauge lead acrylic Jencons uses for its Gamma shielding products.

Safety Super Radiation Protection Shielding

This thicker 35mm lead acrylic shield is adjustable from 0° to 15°. Attenuates emission from isotopes ¹²⁵I, ¹³³Xe, ⁵³Co, ⁹⁹mTe, ¹²³I and ⁶⁷Ga equivalent to 1.7mm thick lead.

Important Safety Notice
Lead acrylic is meant for [¹²⁵I] and related Gamma blockage only. When Beta emitting particles such as [³²P] or [³⁵S] are exposed to heavy metals such as lead, dangerous Bremstrahlung X-rays are produced.
